A mostly one lane dirt road with many bumps, water crossings, mud puddles and huge pot holes that you pretty much need a 4X4 vehicle to traverse. It's a beginner to intermediate off road and not that bad. We spent the night in Ridgeway, Colorado and headed out on Highway 62 towards Telluride. On the left side of the road is a sign for Last Dollar Road. The road basically cuts across the wilderness from Highway 62 to Co145 near the town of Telluride. As a landscape photographer this route took me a long time as I found myself stopping every few minutes to jump out and photograph the beautiful scenery. We were in Colorado for a week shooting central and southwestern Colorado and ended up driving this road three times that week on purpose. One morning is etched in my memory forever as we headed down this road just before sunrise we exited our vehicle and waited patiently breathing in the fresh Colorado mountain air as we stood and watched the sun come up over these mountains.
