The moss on the trees is grasping that lovely light so well. You must be so pleased you stopped to take the picture. Moments like this are fleeting; it's there and then it's not! Fabulous!

Chuck Jason replied:

You are absolutely right about the light Maggie. As a landscape photographer I am always looking at the light & just hoping to catch it with my camera. Thank you so much for your comment!

Artist's Description

While visiting the Columbia River Gorge I tried to move to different locations due to heavy rain storms. I don't mind shooting in light rain but will not subject myself nor my gear to heavy downpours. While traveling along highway 26 towards the coast the sun popped out for a few minutes enough for me to catch this scene out of the corner of my eye. I quickly turned the car around and captured this just before it started storming again.

Henderson is on the outskirts of Las Vegas which is centrally located to some of the most beautiful places that I like to travel, hike and photograph in the American Southwest. I enjoy traveling to far and remote places with the goal of capturing that dramatic image showcasing incredible light frozen in time. Sharing the beauty of God's creation through the images I make. In nature is where my heart and soul are happiest, with camera in hand or merely as an observer. Being in nature allows me to soak in my surroundings in a meditative state. Having a life long passion for photography and a deep sense of gratitude to not...
